The dynamism of modern life brings us the opportunity to react to changing design trends in the market.
aquastyl offers the ability to fill a gap in the granite sink market by the introduction of two new undermount sink models: Mallorca and Menorca.
These new models have been designed with the needs of our customers in mind. Our clients were looking for a high quality product to undermount but wanted something different from stainless steel.
In addition to Mallorca and Menorca, all of the other aquastyl models can be installed undermount as well. Many of our customers have already used this kind of installation and are extremely satisfied.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
The installation system for Mallorca and Menorca follows the same fitting methods used when undermounting our other models.
Staples with asymmetric legs are supplied with each unit and these provide an easy and secure method of fixing the sink to the worktop.
These staples should be drilled into the underside of the worktop as seen in (Fig. 1).
Should you prefer not to drill into the body of the worktop, you can fix the staple to an additional section glued to the underside of the main worktop itself (Fig. 2).
The edges of the sink should be sealed with a high quality silicone.
FURNITURE DIMENSIONS
Mallorca is designed for a 60cm cabinet.
Menorca requires a 45cm cabinet. Should you wish to undermount two units of this model side by side, a 100cm cabinet is recommended.
Note: the sink should be always fixed as close as practicable to the front edge of the cabinet in order to make installation of the tap as easy as possible.
CORNER FITTING
Mallorca and Menorca models can also be installed into corner units thus making good use of a space that might otherwise be wasted due to columns, drainpipes etc.
Upon request, the sink will be supplied with a cut-edge (T cut-out) in order to make fitting easier.
The cabinet should be 100 x 100 cm. However, it is possible to fit them into a 90 cm corner cabinet but, in this case, you should ask for a special cut-out (E ) in order to reduce the size.
When ordering a sink for this type of installation, please clearly indicate “corner fitting” and indicate which kind of cut-out (T or E) is required.
Please find hereinafter, possible corner fitting options.
